No more Google news

Rupert Murdoch has announced plans to remove stories from Google’s search index; the media mogul wants readers of his newspapers to start paying for viewing on line content. It will be interesting to see how many of us will pay to view the news if and when charges are brought in. Resistance will be high; after all it is free at the moment. Will it mean a revival in folk buying print editions of newspapers; if they do they might find that through shrinking advertising revenues the content of the paper isn’t what is used to be.
As an avid reader of news I know I tend to skim through many news sites, but if and when I buy a newspaper I also flip through that, whereas at one time I might have read it from cover to cover.
Habits change and like the Nairn town clock it seems as though there is no going back!
