A quick show of hands in the office suggests that none of us like math or maths as it's sometimes referred to.
Continuing the straw poll it appears that planning as a subject also draws blank stares. Who's interested in planning? OK, no-one unless of course it's a new town or conservatory happening next to where you live.
When it comes to local government, planning has to be both the most controversial and also popular subjects for involvement by the local populous. Look how we came out in force to protest at the proposed South Nairn development.
But... we wondered, how fair our are public servants. How for example have our elected representatives voted in the last few years when its come to contentious planning issues?
Has one councillor voted in favour of planning applications in say the River area but rejected more in other wards? We're sure they've all been very fair in their verdicts but we thought it'd be interesting to do some 'investigative journalism'.
The more we think about it this it's obviously a fascinating subject and we are committed to apply ourselves to this (rather than drink) over the Christmas/New Year holiday.
We're also hoping that Santa might leave us 'Statistics for Dummies' so that we might present to you our findings. We have a hunch (okay a tip off) that our math/s is going to prove very interesting for one particular person.
