The wheels on the bank

Come summer 2018 the Royal Bank of Scotland will no longer have a premise on Nairn High Street and loyal staff will be out on their ear.

We all use the internet so don't give a stuff, do we?

Next time you draw cash from an ATM (hole in the wall to you) have a think about security. Remembering those four digits can be a scunner but the person who invented the ATM wanted the card to have six digits but his wife thought that was too many to remember. Security sucks

Just like the library it's possible Nairn might get a mobile bank visiting once in a while, but probably not. Nope, we're all supposed to manage our money without human intervention.

Pay in a cheque, small business with cash, trying to work out your balance? Sorry try the internet.

It's true many of us haven't paid bank charges in years but now it's a race to the bottom when it comes to any form of customer service. If, and that's a big if you can find a telephone number for your bank you're going to be kept hanging on for hours just to get to speak with someone

A radical idea might be to offer to pay a fee to the bank for some real humans to talk with, £3 a month sound okay? Sorry, too late. Try the internet
