Top Gull

The cooncil is looking at ways to dissuade large flocks of gulls from roosting in the town's tree disturbing residents with their early morning pre dawn chorus.

Plastic spikes will be trialed on some branches along with other measures that the cooncil's procurement department will decide upon later this week.

Despite Nairn being a seaside town many townsfolk are scunnered by the presence of the gull colonies.

Not only do they make a lot of noise but their airborne toilet acrobatics are not appreciated.

The birds ability to spot and snatch food from the hands of bairns is also a major contention especially as Yum Yum's are no cheap these days.

It's hoped Nairn can be a bird free town by 2029.
