Fergus Ewing will portray the oil magnet played in the original film by Burt Lancaster, meanwhile our very own local hero Laurie Fraser will take on the role of Mac (MacIntyre).
Laurie and Fergus are both currently taking part in voice training for their American roles.
It's hoped to commence filming in January and many areas of Nairn will feature including the Star Hotel, the Canteen and Glenferness village hall.
Moped riding extras will be required, watch the local press and media for details.
Laurie is adamant that his new Hollywood role will not affect his business and he'll still be available for his excellent electrical work as per usual.
