With the harbour road closed and their favourite circuit gone dozens of boy racers in Nairn now have their rides up for sale on Gum Tree.

The (mainly) young males who spend thousands on their cars just have no where to go with them anymore.

Apart from cruising and hanging out the harbour area was also ideal for performing donuts. 

To replace their pastime many are now taking up skateboarding and frequenting Nairn's skate park.

Arguably this is a more healthy hobby although younger boarders are none to happy that older boys have taken over the area.

Halfords in Inverness have noticed a fall in sales of car bits, and local garages report petrol sales down.

The continued unexpected fall out of the harbour road closure.
