From Nairn to Barça

Our sports desk has just passed on the news that Nairn County player Gary Kerr has signed a transfer deal with Barcelona FC for a sum of £25m.

Looking back at our records we think this might be the highest transfer deal ever enjoyed by the Highland side.

We wish Mr Kerr well and hope he's able to cope with all the sunshine and of course his new pay cheque for several hundreds of thousands of pounds each week (our financial desk is currently converting the Euro amount to pounds).

The transfer fee of course opens up a host of possibilities for Nairn County. It's understood the monthly raffle prize may increase to £25.

Note: Rothes is the local Catalan name for Barca
