Another cold weekend saw many sporting fixtures cancelled with several Highland football grounds too frosted to safely play on.
With the realisation that many of their sport loving partners suddenly had an Saturday afternoon free many shopping trips were hastily planned.
Both Inverness Eastgate's reported record crowds, the like they'd not enjoyed since before Christmas. Traffic on the A96 was also heavy as clearly shopping was on the cards.
A pie and Bovril was swapped for a latte and pastry in many fancy coffee shops with some reluctant shoppers admitting that this was quite nice.
Sports fans could be seen desperately looking at their phones to see if they could catch the results from any fixtures to slake their competitive thirsts.
The weather is supposed to become milder so hopefully shopping will have become a one off novelty by next weekend.

Ha ha I went shopping and it cost me a fortune. Mind you it was warmer than standing in the cow shed and the cake was very nice.
