Bog off

The gardening club would like to remind members that the annual 'bog off' competition will be underway in the spring.

The rules are very simple and involve members planting up old lavatory pans in the most unusual and colourful way possible.

It's the club's most successful competition with hundreds of Nairn folk taking part.

Local companies are also pleased as Nairnites now change their bathroom suites more often to get their hands on the valuable pans.

Future plans include incorporating the displays into the many public flower beds in Nairn and possibly using them as an alternative to hanging baskets along the High Street.

VisitScotland want to see Nairn being recognised as the toilet pan of the north.
