Happy um, what day is it?

For anyone getting the daggers this morning as you've forgotten there's always the garage.

Garages are great for when you need fuel or flowers, although some sell kindlers as well.

Red roses are the flower of choice for a romantic Valentine's day but if the garage is sold out any bunch will do. We suggest you don't buy the cheapest one though.

Here at the Spin none of us 'do' Valentine's day seeing it as another commercial act to extract money from us, a little like mother's and father's days, Easter, Christmas, New Year and birthdays.

Eateries are also keen to cash in on the day so we tend to make do with a romantic bag of chips at the harbour although with the road still out of action it might have to be the Maggot car park.

Gosh we're romantic, never a penny spared either. Happy Valentines day to you all, just don't count the cost
