It's a rat run

As more houses are built some Lochloy residents are trying to beat the morning wait at the Lochloy Rd/A96 junction.

It's a detour of several miles but some residents say this is better than sitting for 20-30 minutes in a queue and risk going through red lights just to get onto the A96 of a morning.

The new rat run might also be of interest to any new residents who find that their children have been allocated a place at Auldearn Primary school.

One local resident who didn't want to be named told The Spin 'to be honest I'm not sure if it saves much time but it's a lot less stressful as you're driving and getting somewhere'.

Should the route become popular The Spin expects there'll be objections from the many local houses it passes who've been used to a peaceful existence to date.

Another fallout from this development that has grown without much needed infrastructure such as new roads.
