One ex councillor always has his eye on new attractions for Nairn. His latest plan is for rig racing off the beaches of Nairn.
With the large number of rigs now anchored in the Cromarty Firth there's no shortage to choose from.
The idea would be that on a chosen day two rigs would be towed to just off Whitness Head and then the race would be the first to cross a finishing line going out from Nairn pier.
It would be a day of racing with the likes of sand yachts, kite surfers and also donkey rides, and an inflatable bar on the East beach.
