Road closed charges

Highland Council have discovered that they can charge themselves £675 per day for the closure of the road at the Harbour backdated till December 2017.

Our political reporter believes this could have major implications for the time factor in repairing the road as when open the road would equal a significant loss of earnings for the council.

Clearly there is a duty to reopen the road and the council may be forced to look at other ridiculous income streams such as parking charges, although this idea is so ludicrous that we doubt it would be proposed for the town.
