Continuous Protest

So many closures are happening on Nairn High Street that our community councils have decided to organise a continual protest on the High Street every Saturday.

Many would argue that the High Street has been in decline for years and closures are nothing new, but the Royal Bank closing seems to be a tipping point for many Nairnites.

Occasionally we see (after we've been in) major new businesses open such as Spec savers but that tends to be the exception.

Main stream media reports that many restaurants are struggling with some closing but are we seeing Nairn swimming against the tide with Ozzy  Ali opening in what was the Cali?

There's no getting away from the fact that parking charges loom and no one really knows what difference that'll make to the High Street trade, it's unlikely that folk will flock to Nairn if they have to pay to park.

Protests don't always change matters but without them democracy wouldn't have been born.
