A new dog poo app is being trialed in Nairn.
It will allow smart phone users to give the GPS position of any dog poo they spot and also to take and upload a photo of it.
Dog fouling is a major problem for every town and it's hoped this new app will highlight the issue.
It's thought that the Scottish government are preparing legislation that would force dog owners to allow their pets DNA to be taken and then any dog fouling could be matched to the exact dog responsible. The service would be paid for via the large fines that would be collected from owners of the offending animals.
