Nairn Misery Run

Yesterdays 10k Nairn misery run was dubbed a great success by the organisers.

The weather was perfect with a -5 windchill and several snow showers during the event; a small grim looking crowd formed at the High St to watch the poor runners start.

A spokesperson said 'we couldn't have wished for worse weather, everyone was absolutely miserable by the end of the run and just wanted to go home. Last year it was much milder and some participants had a slight grin as they passed the finishing line, not something we wish to see'.

Organisers are looking forward to next year when Highland Council will charge them £650 to close the High Street with the added factor of parking charges at the Library car park. This should ensure an extra layer of misery for those taking part.
