As the waiting list for social housing grows Highland Council are looking at the possibility of a compulsory purchase order for Parkdean.
In a radical move this would provide accommodation for everyone on the housing list, that would be good news.
Parkdean is based on Common Good land so the purchase price would just be for the caravans.
An alternative move might see the lease at Parkdean not being renewed and the land being offered on a leasehold basis to a developer. The rent from this would then be invested in further social housing for Nairn.
