Apparently interest has grown since the proposed McDonald's application that many believe would see Nairn as a major food/entertainment destination in the Highlands.
An ex councillor who's also a Nairn business person thought that Nairn could easily rival if not gain on the likes of Aviemore that's seen as one of the largest leisure towns in the Highlands.
McDonalds would apparently just be the start of well known fast food outlets opening in Nairn, and there's the possibility of a major water sports facility at the harbour along with a dry ski area in the nearby Cawdor hills.
