A promise to have the harbour fixed for Easter by Cllr Elizabeth MacDonald has been fore-filled.
Contractors worked through last night to carry out the necessary repairs to the road and finished the dredging work.
Many people thought that the April 1st deadline would be missed but have been proved wrong.
Police have been on duty at the harbour this morning managing traffic as the appeal for Nairnites to return to their favourite car park has been huge.
One negative of the day is that parking meters have been installed and charges of £10 per hour have been implemented. Police officers had to intervene to restore public order when traffic wardens appeared on the scene.
Despite promises from our Parking Charges Three who voted for the Highland council budget, parking charges will now apply in Nairn.
