Traffic Wardens

There's been much anger in Nairn with the news that parking charges are to come into force.

Three of our councillors promised us otherwise, there was to be consultation, nothing happened other than meters being bought by Highland council.

An investigative dig by the Spin has revealed that Highland council had ideas about employing council employees to be traffic wardens in the past -

Our councillors are employed by Highland council; could it be that one or more of them is also considering patrolling our streets to hand out tickets?

Might Laurie want yet another job in Nairn? His shop is in a handy place to patrol the High Street.

On a more positive note one shopkeeper is planning to hand out free £1 shaped ice cubes to all customers. Any evidence that these are being used in parking meters in the town will of course have melted.
