Loch Ness and Nessie are also names that have been suggested as well as just plain Sneckie, but a growing popular groundswell is behind it being named the Councillor Elizabeth MacDonald airport in recognition of her services to belly dancing.
Physically the airport is nearer to Nairn than Inverness so it seems only fair that Nairnites should have a say.
Our three other councillors are in the running as well, famously known as the Parking Charges Three.
Other popular names are The Gurn airport and even our own publication has a few votes. We think The Spin airport would be quite catchy.
