Was today a Bank holiday in Nairn?

With the recent closure of the Nairn branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland no one was sure if Nairn was observing the Bank holiday today.

Some businesses remained open, others closed.

One thing's for sure, if the banks do continue to close in our high street then we'll lose all our Bank holidays, it'd be  a nonsense to follow them.

What could we replace the holiday's with? On line shopping holiday perhaps, charity shop holiday maybe, the list is endless.

In a world of near 24/7 shopping we at the Spin think it'd be great to give shop workers a few days a year to keep their shutters closed and have the day off, but could we cope with a no shopping day holidays?
