A spokesperson for the stores stated that this is their best Boxing Day for several decades with queues outside the store when it opened at 10:00 am.
It's though that the gold piano featured in the Queen's Christmas Day speech has sparked the interest.
Other Inverness stores noted high sales of other gold items including mirrors, picture frames, fire guards, bracelets and gold spray paint.
It would seem that folk are embracing the Queen's message of #GetOutOfPoverty by buying gold items that they can ill afford.
