One purchase that they have made are pedal powered gritters that will replace the current fleet of gritting lorries.
It's thought that these new gritters will save hundreds of thousands of pounds as they won't require fuel and will use less salt compared to their vehicle conterparts.
The council aim to give a gritting bicycle to each of their employees and will ask them to ride them on frosty on snowy days.
