As the cost of living continues to spiral a new initiative is growing in Nairn, communal pasta trees. The plants will offer a variety of pasta including spaghetti and are all grafted from tomato stock crossed with garlic.
A local charity group Yellow Mellow is working in conjunction with a Nairn gardener to plant these trees all over Nairn
A spokesperson said 'at a time like this proving free nutritional food is more important than ever and we hope these trees will be of help to local folk'.
People are being encouraged to not only help plant these trees but are also very welcome to help themselves to the range of pasta that will mature towards the end of summer. The fresh pasta can be dried and stored to use over winter.
